At the November 2001 Los Angeles Auto Show, the world premiere of the large crossover Hyundai Palisade 2021 took place, which became the new all-terrain flagship in the South Korean manufacturer’s lineup.

The new Hyundai Palisad (the car got its name in honor of the rich suburb of LA) looks a bit like the Santa Fe crossover from the outside, and ideologically it is intended to replace the larger Grand Santa Fe removed from the assembly line.

The front off-road vehicle has a brutal look due to a huge radiator grill with a massive chrome edging, as well as large sections of foglights on the sides. At the same time, the narrow head optics are located high here, with their upper part adjoining the edge of the hood.

The hood itself, like the sidewalls, has a pronounced relief, the front bumper on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade is equipped with a silver protective lining on the bottom, on the right side of the rear bumper there are twin exhaust pipes, and on the wide trunk lid in the center there is an inscription “Palisade”.

The heavy profile of the large crossover is slightly lightened by the edging of the side windows, and the chrome strip along the top divided the rear pillar from the side glass, which provided the car with the effect of a “floating” roof. The vertical lights go a little on the rear fenders, while all the lighting equipment, including the turn signals in the side mirrors, is already LED in the base.

It is noteworthy that the interior of the new Hyundai Palisad 2021 model was not unified with the younger Santa Fe. Here is the original front panel, as well as a different instrument panel with two analogue dials and a large LCD display in between. A large 10.25-inch multimedia screen is located on a substrate, visually combined with a tidy visor.

The climate control unit on the Hyundai Palisade was taken out on the dashboard – there are also transmission control buttons and the MultiTerrain Control control electronics mode washer, which provides seven presets, including several off-road ones.

The seating formula for a car has two options: 2 + 2 + 3 (with two captain’s chairs on the second row), or 2 + 3 + 3 (with a three-seater sofa). The backs of the second and third rows are folded electrically by a button from the trunk, nearly 16 cupholders and seven USB ports are scattered around the Palisade interior.

In addition, for the convenience of passengers in the cabin, there are special microphones that allow them to not raise their voices, and the “Rear Sleep Mode” function of the audio system turns off the speakers in the rear, in case someone decided to take a nap on the way. Plus, the interior of the model is equipped with an intelligent air distribution system with a special diffuser in the roof.
