Subaru introduced the updated Forester crossover, which received both external and technical changes. So far, only a version for the Japanese market has debuted, but a left-hand drive version is also due to be presented in the coming months.
Cosmetic changes have been made to the LED front optics and the grille, which has a new pattern with U-shaped elements. Plus, the car got new rims.
On the technical side, the engineers applied sportier suspension settings, optimized the e-active shift control system for hybrid cars, and also used a camera with an increased angle of coverage for the proprietary EyeSight safety system.
The Subaru Forester engine lineup for the Japanese market will remain the same. As before, the crossover will be offered with a 2.0-liter petrol boxer engine developing 145 hp. and 188 Nm of torque, as well as with a 1.8-liter supercharged engine producing 177 horsepower. In addition, the model will be available with a hybrid powertrain based on a 2.0-liter unit, paired with a 16-horsepower compact electric motor. In all cases, a variator and four-wheel drive are used as transmissions.
